Online Engineering Majors
We research online degrees in 22 engineering majors. A major belongs to a program, not to a whole school: a university can offer an online mechanical engineering master's and only a campus aerospace degree. 20 of the 22 majors currently have at least one verified online program; counts include broad engineering degrees with a formally named concentration in that discipline (labelled as concentrations on each listing). Online availability is uneven, and we do not fill gaps with campus programs.

3 programsAgricultural engineering — including biological, biosystems and agricultural and biological engineering — applies engineering to food, water, soil, machinery, bioprocessing and natural resources.
Master's: 3Fully online: 2
Architectural Engineering
1 programArchitectural engineering is the engineering of buildings — structural systems, mechanical and electrical systems, lighting, acoustics and construction. It is an engineering degree, not an architecture degree.
Mining Engineering
2 programsMining engineering covers the exploration, design, operation and reclamation of surface and underground mines, mineral processing, mine safety and ventilation.
Master's: 2Fully online: 1
Marine Engineering
0 programsMarine engineering — including naval architecture and marine engineering — covers ship and offshore vessel design, propulsion, power and auxiliary systems. It is not marine biology.
No verified online program yet. Marine engineering was researched at institutions including the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, whose official site could not be read by our verification tools, so no program could be confirmed from an official page. Related verified options: ocean engineering. Not finding one is not proof that none exists.
Ocean Engineering
3 programsOcean engineering covers engineering in the marine environment: coastal and offshore structures, underwater vehicles and acoustics, ocean energy, hydrodynamics and ocean instrumentation. It is distinct from marine engineering and from ocean science.
Master's: 3Fully online: 2
Mechatronics Engineering
0 programsMechatronics engineering integrates mechanical, electrical and computer engineering in controlled electromechanical systems — sensors, actuators, embedded control and automation.
No verified online program yet. The online mechatronics offerings we found were Engineering Technology degrees or certificates, which are listed separately and never counted as engineering degrees. Related verified options: robotics engineering and mechanical engineering. Not finding one is not proof that none exists.
Robotics Engineering
6 programsRobotics engineering degrees cover robot kinematics and dynamics, perception, planning, control and autonomous systems. Only degrees are listed — robotics certificates are not.
Master's: 6Fully online: 1
General Engineering
18 programsGeneral engineering degrees (BS in Engineering, MS in Engineering, Master of Engineering without a named discipline) span several disciplines. Where a broad degree has a formally named concentration, the listing labels it as a concentration of the broad award.
